Fantastic experience playing this on Sunday - we played in two groups and it was so intense as we were competing. Super fun. You can also do it in a more collaborative and relaxed way but the group I was in wanted the real immersive crime scene experience. We competed the game within around 1.5 hours. It wasn’t crowded but Bugis is really the perfect venue - lots of mazes and bridges and paths to explore. The game was fully sheltered throughout. Lots of good vendors that I will definitely go back to visit!

An immersive experience and atmosphere made fun by Staff Jamie who stayed in character from the beginning of our journey till the end when we returned to the start location. Clocked in our steps while having fun working our brains and being detectives for a day! The interface was also super user friendly and instructions were easy to understand. Got a free gift at the end and a cute employee ID, worth the money! Best for couples or small groups so you don’t solve it too quickly ;) 10 out of 10 stars! ️

Immersive, clever and incredibly well executed The Sherlock Holmes Experience is such a refreshing take on exploring Singapore. The combination of storytelling, physical clues, AR and VR is seamlessly integrated and genuinely adds to the investigation rather than feeling gimmicky. It keeps you curious, observant and thinking throughout, while discovering Bugis from a completely different perspective. Creative, interactive and very well thought out. Definitely worth experiencing.

221B Bugis Street: A Study in Red Review Launching from a wonderfully atmospheric, themed Sherlock consultancy office inside Bugis Street, A Study in Red turns the mall into an open-world crime scene. Armed with case files and your phone, you follow a 16-waypoint trail winding through Bugis+ and Bugis Junction. The gameplay brilliantly blends physical environmental clues, audio logs, and digital sleuthing. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete, keeping you moving without feeling rushed. Your employee pass even doubles as an F&B discount voucher. It’s an exceptionally clever, immersive alternative to standard weekend shopping.

We went in a big group of 9 and played in two competitive groups - it can be as intense as you make it!! Very well thought of and we enjoyed the little pitstops at the partner merchants with discounts. Great way to “discover” the Bugis area again as a Singaporean.

A fantastic live experience around the malls in Bugis. The Sherlock Holmes conversations via message and calls, as well as the real life immersive nature of dealing with vendors makes this much more engaging than normal ‘escape rooms’. My husband and I loved completing the clues. You also get bonus discounts for plenty of vendors across the malls too. I’d highly recommend.

What can I expect from the experience?
A Study In Red transforms the vibrant Bugis district into a thrilling, real-world murder mystery. Over 1.5 to 2 hours, you'll become the newest recruit for 221B Consultants. Working alongside Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, and local authorities, you will investigate physical crime scenes, examine forensic evidence, interact with live contacts, and solve the mystery in an adventure all over Bugis Street, Bugis+, and Bugis Junction.

The investigation begins at Bugis Street L2. Refer to this link to get step by step directions to find the start point.

Monday–Sunday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Last recommended start time: 7:30 PM
Is the experience indoors or outdoors?
This experience is held indoor and is air-conditioned, taking you on foot through the Bugis Street Market, Bugis+, and Bugis Junction.
How long does the experience last?
Most players complete the investigation in around 2 hours, depending on their pace. The experience is entirely self-paced, so feel free to stop for food, shopping or breaks along the way.
Will food and drinks be available?
While food and drinks are not directly included, your 221B Employee Pass (provided at the start of the game) grants you special perks and discounts at select partner vendors. Refer here for an updated list of vendors.
Can I play with friends?
Yes, for the best experience, we recommend you play with friends. You can form teams of up to 5 players.
Do I need to interact with real people?
Yes. You will be greeted by on-site personnel at the crime scene, before setting off in pursuit of clues. During the experience, you will also find and interact with participating retail vendors who will provide physical items needed to advance the case.
Can children play this experience?
The recommended age for A Study in Red is 13+, as the story includes mature themes such as murder and prostitution.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to use their discretion when deciding whether the experience is suitable for younger participants.
We have also had families with children under 13 enjoy the adventure together.
